Historical Society

The Broadmeadows Historical Society was established in 1975, at the instigation of Mr. Bert Payne, a former City of Broadmeadows Mayor and councillor. The Society was established to collect, preserve and display items of historical significance related to Broadmeadows and District. This has been expanded to include items of societal significance, which is aimed to enhance the stories of the people who live in Broadmeadows and District as well as the history.

The Society is volunteer managed and is always looking for new members.

The Society is also looking for items and stories to add to the collection to enable us to tell your story to future residents.

We embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander living cultures as a vital part of Australia’s identity and recognise, celebrate and pay respect to Elders past, present and future.
